A center for retreats and pilgrimage
Pilegrimsgarden is established as a non-profit foundation by the Diocese of
Stavanger, but with an ecumenical conceptual profile inspired by the celtic
history of the area.
Pilegrimsgarden organizes pilgrimages and journeys, retreats and days in
silence, courses and seminars all year round. The center is together with the
monastery an official stopping point along the Coastal pilgrimage route.
Community
Pilegrimsgarden is a community characterized by stillness, simplicity,
hospitality, generosity, tolerance and thoughtfulness - a shelter without
demands and external expectations. Visitors can put aside work and responsibility
24
for a few days.
There are only 3 employees, but close to a hundred volunteers keeps the
center operating throughout the year.
Accomodation
Pilegrimsgarden offers accommodation in single or double rooms. For groups
who want a longer stay at Utstein, there is the possibility of accommodation
in a guesthouse with 5 bedrooms
and 8 beds, 2 bathrooms, a living
room, a kitchen, a carport and a
garden.
