St. Olav's monastery dates back to 1160. It may have been created to conduct teaching and priestly service
in connection with the Cathedral. Today there are no remains of the monastery.
The well of St. Olav
Olskjellå, the sculpture of Erik Haugland, which you will find in Olavskleiva, is a memory of the old well that
was located here. St. Olav´s Monastery was probably located in this area.
