Hå old Vicarage/Obrestad lighthouse
Nærbø in Hå municipally is an area rich in cultural
memorials. The old vicarage with the lighthouse are
the second key location on the pilgrimage route.
The old Vicarage at Hå and the Obrestad lighthouse
are both good starting points for short or long walks
along the old Royal road southwards to Varhaug
cemetery or northwards to Nærland village.
The origin of the Royal road «Kongeveien» as a primitive
path, goes probably back to the Stone age.
A new road for horse and carriage was ordered by
King Christian IV in 1636. 3 Kings are known to have
visited Hå and they all travelled along the Royal road.
Hå old Vicarage
The vicarage is today a very well preserved and vivid
center of Arts and Culture. Here, close to the open
sea, you´ll find a popular crossroad between the
present time, arts and the past.
The combination of Arts and Culture
with great terrain for walking, makes
the vicarage one of the most visited
tourist destinations at Jæren.
Pilgrim passes are stamped during opening hours.
They can also be stamped at the “Quiet room” at the
Obrestad lighthouse, a short walk from the vicarage.
